The promotional literature on 'active ageing' focuses on being physically active. This study aims to research the discourses of recreational enjoyment in the 50-65 year old age range to complement the being active emphasis with an emphasis on enjoyment across a wide range of activities and to give a voice to those who are the focus of the health promotion literature.
