Human criminal behavior is not inherited rather it is acquired. Some social, economic, political and psychological factors may cause to involve the female in different types of crimes. For exploring the ground realities regarding the female criminal behaviour this study was focused. The population of this study was female prisoners. The objectives of the study were: (1) to comprehend the female criminal behavior through the reviewing of existing literature and researches. (2) To examine the extent and types of crimes committed by female prisoners. (3) To find out the forces and factors pushing the females into crimes. (4) To recommend measures to eliminate the causes of violence against women. The researcher collected data through structured interview from prisoners of Central Jail Rawalpindi. For analyzing the data percentage (%) was used. It was found that common crimes in female criminals were robbery, attempt to murder and murder, prostitution, use of alcohol and narcotics and smuggling. Overall this study recommends for establishing a balanced social setup to secure the women’s rights.
