I have published many essays and books on critical and cultural theory, Marxism, gender and sexuality. An exemplary instance is my anthology The Material Queer. Readers are perhaps most familiar with my republished essay, “Birth of the Cyberqueer," which first appeared in PMLA. In addition I have co-authored and co-edited such books as Post-ality: Marxism and Postmodernism; Marxism, Queer Theory, Gender; Theory, Pedagogy, Politics: Texts for Change; Theory; (Post)Modernity, Opposition: An ‘Other’ Introduction to Contemporary Literary and Cultural Theory; Theory as Resistance: An Other Introduction to Theory after Poststructuralism; and other texts.
